Cellulite therapy

A combination of treatments is recommended over a period of ten to twelve weeks. These combinations of treatments will help to increase blood flow, increase Lymphatic flow, nourish cells, strengthen cells, lift and firm. During your personalized, free consultation I will explain the benefits and discuss a protocol including a combination of the following treatments.

Prices range from 100-170€ per treatment.

Body Enzyme Therapy

Body Enzyme Therapy is specifically designed for the body.  This deep exfoliating, strengthening and firming treatment contours while encouraging the skin to perform better. It increases blood circulation bringing nutrients and oxygen to the cells so they can perform their function better and strengthen and firm. It is excellent for cellulite, fluid retention, dry skin, poor circulation, as well as treating other skin issues such as pigmentation, stretch marks and acne on the body.

Body Sculpting

Help minimize the appearance of cellulite and discover a firmer body. The DMK Body Sculpting Wrap is a treatment designed to help re-shape and sculpt the body. It assists in revising the appearance of cellulite and unsightly puffy areas.

The cream induces thermogenesis in the surface part of the epidermis and in the lower subcutaneous tissue. Thermogenesis occurs when the BODY SCULPTING cream is absorbed into the pathways of the epidermis and the capillaries are stimulated to increase blood circulation. The herb-based active ingredients of the product affect the function of brown fat cells through the peripheral blood circulation, whereby the stored energy of white fat is released for use by the body and the size of the fat cell decreases. As the metabolism of the skin and the tissue under it increases, the skin's elasticity, softness and especially firmness also increase.

Cellulite responds effectively to soy-based products with isoflavonoids, as these prevent the

Special features and benefits:

• Fades cellulite

• Rehabilitates and tightens loose body skin

• Improves blood circulation and dead cells that are full of waste products

• Stimulates lymphatic circulation and improves the amount of nutrients and oxygen in the cells

• Hydrolyzes dead cells from the surface of the skin

• Improves skin elasticity

LED Red Light Therapy

How does red light therapy supposedly work?

Red light therapy is thought to work by acting on the “power plant” in your body’s cells called mitochondria. With more energy, other cells can do their work more efficiently, such as repairing skin, boosting new cell growth and enhancing skin rejuvenation. More specifically, certain cells absorb light wavelengths and are stimulated to work.

Red light therapy may work in skin health to:

  • Stimulate collagen production, which gives skin its structure, strength and elasticity.

  • Increase fibroblast production, which makes collagen. Collagen is a component of connective tissue that builds skin.

  • Increase blood circulation to the tissue.

  • Reduce inflammation in cells.

Red light therapy is promoted as a treatment for some common skin conditions, including to:

  • Improve wound healing.

  • Reduce stretch marks

  • Reduce wrinkles, fine lines and age spots.

  • Improve facial texture.

  • Improve psoriasisrosacea and eczema.

  • Improve scars.

  • Improve sun-damaged skin.

  • Improve hair growth in people with androgenic alopecia.

  • Improve acne.

Lymfa Therapy/Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage for cellulite is a massage technique that works on the lymphatic vessels to remove swelling, oedemas and cellulite.

It could therefore be the solution for relieving annoyances such as:

  • Heavy legs

  • Water retention

  • Orange peel skin

  • Oedema

Thanks to its action on the reabsorption of oedemas that cause alteration of adipose cells and all the visible symptoms of stagnation, lymphatic drainage for the treatment of cellulite enhances venous circulation, improves the appearance and tone of the skin as well as its temperature, and also causes relaxation of the muscle fibres.

When associated with a healthy lifestyle, it is a valid support for eliminating fluid accumulation and facilitating the disappearance of cellulite, especially in the early stage and in its oedematous and soft forms.

This therapy is more beneficial than a relaxing massage, because its protocol aims to improve circulation of blood “return” in microcirculation and especially of the lymphatic system.

How Cellulite Occurs

The breakdown of collagen is a basic biological function of estrogen. The process starts by estrogen stimulating the collagenase formation in the fibroblast, and the collagenase breaking down the muscle fibres. When collagen is relaxed or weakened, the superficial fascia weakens and gives way, and the fat bulges upward creating a wavy surface. Thus we can conclude that the underlying cause of cellulite is weakened connective tissue.

Adipocytes are found in the adipose fat tissue and held in place by fibres made from the connective tissue, which act as a supporting network. An increase in their size or number leads to an excess fat accumulation and water retention. This increase can be caused by improper diet, lack of exercise, hormonal imbalances or a combination of these.

Accumulated adipocytes compress both the supporting fibers in the connective tissue and the capillaries running through this tissue, thus decreasing blood circulation. When there is a lack of oxygen (asphyxia) the fat cells form nodes (fat cells become surrounded with a membrane-like wall) that appear under the epidermis and can be diagnosed visually from the surface of the skin.

The arterial blood vessels (arteries) carry blood containing oxygen, water and nutritive substances throughout the body. The arteries connect into a vast network of extremely small, single cell walled, blood vessels called capillaries. The capillaries are responsible for releasing oxygen and nutrients carried by the blood into the cells. It is also in these capillaries, that the blood absorbs metabolic waste products before returning to the heart through the body’s network of veins. When the capillaries are obstructed, the living cells cannot function normally.

Possible Alterations to the Circulatory System Caused by Cellulite:

  1. An increase in capillary permeability (i.e.Hormonal changes)

  2. An increase in blood pressure inside the capillaries

  3. An obstruction to the lymph circulation

These alterations will enhance the potential of oedema and water retention, which means that excess liquids that would normally be absorbed and removed by the capillaries, remain trapped in the spaces between the fat cells. These liquids can contain lipid-hardening toxins. This decrease in blood circulation may also result in a decrease in body temperature, especially in the hands and feet.

Oedema often forms with excess water retention. The presence of oedema, in turn, exerts a negative effect on the normal functioning of the lymphatic circulation and on the adipocytes, creating a complex and negative situation which is manifested in a hardened or “orange peel” appearance to the skin. This is often accompanied by a feeling of tiredness and irritability, which is caused by improper functioning of the lymphatic circulation.

Circulation enhancers and lymphatic drainage – These treatments do not treat the cellulite directly however they do help the symptoms. One being a reduced capillary blood flow. When capillary flow is decreased, the lymph flow is also decreased. The lymphatic vessels have no muscles to pump the fluid; they depend entirely on the tissue movement to work. Sluggish circulation slows down lipid metabolism and tends to increase fluid retention thus increasing the appearance of cellulite by aggravating the fat condition. Lymphatic drainage offers a positive treatment for the interstitial congestion associated with cellulite as it treats the sluggish circulation and increased capillary pressure. If Lymfa Therapy/Manual Lymphatic Drainage is too strong or done incorrectly, it can actually aggravate the condition. It is very important to have a good knowledge of the lymphatic system and how to positively affect this in order to help reduce and prevent cellulite.

  • Lymph gives nourishment and takes away waste

  • Lymph is the healer of wounds

  • A regenerator in the highest sense

Lymph nourishes all cells. If the lymph circulation slows down the cells dry out, the vital functions diminish and the tissues are poisoned by their own waste products.   Stagnant lymph exerts a pressure, producing swelling and a feeling of pain on the tissues and nerves causing a feeling of fatigue or heaviness in their legs.

By encouraging lymphatic drainage on a regular basis, this will produce less inflammation less venous stasis and less accumulation of intracellular toxins.
